Stellantis has unveiled 12 compact, mid-size and large commercial vans for the Citroën, Fiat Professional, Opel/Vauxhall and Peugeot brands. It is part of the multinational motor company’s Pro One strategic offensive that aims to increase sales of its light commercial vehicles (LCV) by 25% by 2027 to catch up with global market leader Ford.

Last year Stellantis sold 1.6-million vans and pickups around the world, with commercial vehicles representing one third of group net revenues.

The company’s Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan aims for a 40% electric vehicle (EV) global sales mix with battery electric vehicle (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell technologies, including the introduction of electric Ram pickups from 2024.

At Monday’s launch Xavier Peugeot, senior vice-president of the Stellantis Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, unveiled new or upgraded vans featuring second-generation battery-electric power, a unique hydrogen solution, a new generation of human-machine interface (HMI) and enhanced semi-autonomous driving assistance systems.

New tech features across the range include renewed cockpits, new 10-inch infotainment and wireless connectivity in the vehicles that keeps drivers informed and managers connected with their fleets in real time.

Scott Seed, head of product at Stellantis SA, said the latest versions of the Fiat Doblo, Peugeot Boxer, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo and Opel Vivaro will be introduced locally during 2024. Low emission vehicle (LEV) models are under evaluation for the extra European markets and looking to be introduced the next one to two years, he said.

Below is a rundown of the new vans launched by Stellantis on Monday.

COMPACT VANS

There are four body types and two lengths, with payloads of up to one tonne, and internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV models.

The Citroën Berlingo, Fiat Doblo, Opel Combo and Peugeot Partner are all based on the same platform with distinctive brand markers.

A new Smartphonestation connects to a dedicated app enabling the mobile phone to become a control panel for the vehicle, including interaction with steering wheel buttons, making for a cost-effective way to upgrade the online experience.

Advanced driving assist systems include dynamic surround vision with cameras providing a 360º view around the vehicle for easier parking.

EV versions have up to 330km of range, a 50km improvement over current models.

MEDIUM VANS

The Citroën Jumpy, Fiat Scudo, Peugeot Expert and Opel Vivaro comprise six body types with two lengths, with payloads up to 1.4 tonnes. BEV, ICE and fuel cell models are offered.

They feature new instrument panels with enhanced functions and digital cluster and over the air capabilities, and dynamic surround vision.

Two zero-emission powertains will comprise a battery-electric with up to 350km range, and a hydrogen fuel cell (arriving mid 2024) with a 400km range and fast refuelling in less than five minutes.

LARGE VANS

The Citroën Jumper, Fiat Ducato, Opel Movano and Peugeot Boxer comprise seven body types, four lengths and three heights. Offering up to 2 tonnes payload, Stellantis large vans feature second-generation BEVs with claimed best in class 420km range with fast charging up to 80% in under an hour. Next year the group will launch a first in class hydrogen fuel cell with a 500km range and five minutes’ fill time.
