Northam Platinum plans to double its workforce during the next six years as it becomes a major source of platinum-group metals (PGMs) through new projects using bold forays into technology to control costs and unlock ore bodies.

Launching its growth strategy from the base of its single Zondereinde mine, the deepest in SA’s platinum industry, Northam put in place a fresh BEE transaction, raising R4bn of cash and a formidable war chest to make bold purchases and decisions on cutting-edge technology.
