Johannesburg-born Murray had a short spell in Australia over the Christmas period, riding four winners, but he intends building his career in SA and getting plum rides for the De Kock yard is a huge bonus. Murray partners Heavenly Blue in the Betting World Gauteng Guineas and stablemate, Ektifaa, in the Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas. What is particularly interesting is the ante-post market with the prices of a number of runners quoted at different prices by two leading bookmaker firms. Betting World, sponsors of Saturday’s race, make Sean Tarry’s runner, Furiosa, the mount of S’manga Khumalo, second favourite at 15-4.
