Tell me about your job. My primary focus is on building teams who can create friction-free environments for our members (that is, our tenants) in shared spaces. I mentor teams, teaching them how to deliver these services. This involves creating, implementing and adapting procedures to make their jobs easier. I am also responsible for partnership and sales - which means finding ways to build a mutually beneficial working relationship for entrepreneurs, start-ups and corporates. How do the OPEN spaces work? We have developed an understanding of the nature of today's work space from our hands-on experience over the past five years. A critical element in a co-working space is finding the ideal balance between the different needs in a working environment. People want space to meet, have a Skype call and just get some admin done. So what we have done in Sandton, for instance, is create members-only meeting spaces on the first and second floors, which are not accessible to outside bookings...
