Wine prices are heavily marked up, and when the pound price of a fairly basic bottle of red or white is converted into rand, it can gobble up an uncomfortable share of your travel budget. Especially when you consider that the price on the wine list will routinely be inflated on the bill — along with everything else you order — by a 12.5% service charge...
