US farmers stand ground in climate fight
President’s team has work cut out persuading farmers to change agricultural methods and reduce emissions

Toronto — Garrett Riekhof’s family has farmed crops such as maize and soya beans near the Missouri town of Higginsville since his ancestors arrived there from Germany over a century ago.
“I’m still farming that exact piece of dirt,” the 39-year-old, a fifth-generation Midwestern farmer, said. “If that’s not sustainable, I need somebody to teach me why it’s not.”..
