THE SABC is advertising for a new chief executive officer to replace Frans Matlala who left the broadcaster after securing a settlement earlier this year.Advertisements were placed in major newspapers this weekend after the Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed Hlaudi Motsoeneng bid to overturn a high court ruling about the chief operating officer position two weeks ago. Last year, the high court found Motsoeneng’s appointment as chief operating officer was irrational and unlawful.SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said the public broadcaster was seeking candidates externally and internally, adding: "Advertising this position has got nothing to do with Hlaudi."Hannes du Buisson, spokesman for the Broadcasting, Electronic, Media and Allied Workers Union (Bemawu) said: "I would not be surprised if they’ve decided already who they want and they are only paying lip service to the recruitment (processes)."The advertisement calls for candidates with postgraduate qualifications, preferably a MBA, ...
