Coach Allister Coetzee named new faces on Monday such as Stormers flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis and Lions hooker Akker van der Merwe in a Springbok training squad for a camp next week. Coetzee also recalled injured Boks such as Handré Pollard‚ Siya Kolisi‚ Frans Malherbe and Jaco Kriel and included world sevens player of the year Seabelo Senatla in the 41-man group. Players from the Sharks and Southern Kings‚ who are on Super Rugby tour‚ were not considered for the camp from March 5 to 7 in Johannesburg. This is the first of three preparation camps the Springboks will undertake before the start of the international season in June‚ when South Africa host France in a three-match series.
