HUMOUR, nostalgia and children, especially babies, proved to be the winning themes for the top 20 ads to hit SA’s small screens in 2015, according to brand growth company Millward Brown’s rankings issued on Thursday.Vodacom’s advert, featuring a priest who is late for a wedding but still conducts the ceremony, through iPad, got the top spot. Telkom grabbed second place with its ad showing a baby in a playroom explaining why Telkom is the best solution for a business. KFC came third with its heartfelt advert centred on a mother who only gets to see her children briefly when she works nightshifts at a hospital but keeps the family together at dinner time with KFC.Millward Brown has been ranking SA TV commercials since 1984, rating them by how popular they are among the South African audience.
