After a confrontational meeting at Nedlac two weeks ago, the Black Business Council (BBC) and the Treasury met on Friday to discuss the Guptas, radical economic transformation and creating a more inclusive budget. In a joint statement released on Friday, the BBC and the Treasury said: "The meeting was characterised by robust and frank discussions. It was agreed that further engagements, both at strategic and technical level, will continue." BBC general secretary George Sebulela said: "The reaction was productive and we are going to engage further going forward. Nothing solid has come out of it yet." Just a week before, the meeting at Nedlac turned sour when Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan accused the BBC of trying to capture the Treasury and of representing the interests of a single family. BBC president Danisa Baloyi, who was not at the Nedlac meeting, admitted earlier in the week that one of her first concerns was to address Gordhan’s accusations that the BBC was trying to capture...
