THE SABC board chairman has been given 48 hours to fire Hlaudi Motsoeneng. The DA said on Monday that should Prof Mbulaheni Maghuve not accede to this demand — which it sent to him in a memo — it will pursue legal action. "We have beaten Hlaudi in court before‚ and we’ll do it again‚" DA leader Mmusi Maimane said at a protest outside the SABC offices in Auckland Park. He said the "situation at the SABC has reached boiling point following last week’s announcement that Hlaudi Motsoeneng was appointed as head of corporate affairs at the public broadcaster‚ despite a High Court order declaring him unfit". "This one-man wrecking ball has been on a path of destruction at the SABC ever since he was wrongfully appointed chief operations officer (COO) some two years ago‚" said Maimane.
