The retailer’s scooters represent the single most important thing about the grocery retail business model: distribution. And in our on-demand world, it’s the supermarket with the reach that will win out, not the food producers
As I watched Wales mutilate Australia and send them packing, the satisfaction was immense. The only thing better than watching the Aussies take a beating in sport is watching the same thing happen to the English. We can only hope for a similar outcome for our friends on mud island. Also, congratulations to Ireland. We will see you again in the final.
Sporting rivalries aside, it’s impossible not to see the Checkers Sixty60 branding all over this event. Every studio interview is like being stuck behind one of the scooters in traffic. Turquoise is practically our national colour, reinforced by recent Springbok attire in a suspicious coincidence. FNB is also a sponsor, but their silly new logo somewhat fades into insignificance compared with the Checkers branding and clever social media campaigns around the sport. Being “the other turquoise brand” isn’t great at the moment. ..
