What a time it is. The media in the dock, an entire bank literally looted and the accused looters all have their hands up in the air saying: “It wasn’t me”. Julius Malema, the EFF leader, is due to hold a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday) to address the assertion by advocate Terry Motau in his VBS Mutual Bank report that deputy EFF leader Floyd Shivambu’s brother, Brian, got R16.1m from the bank. Apparently Brian is an experienced businessman and the fact that he graduated only last year doesn’t tell the whole story. Ok, let’s see. Signs are that Julius Malema will double down and insist that some enemy — Indians, perhaps, in the Treasury or the Reserve Bank — are behind this disgraceful attempt to bring his party down.
