Every year without fail my bank sends me an e-mail to inform me that my bank charges are about to be hiked. It’s quite bizarre.

It hasn’t explained why it does this. Not even "Well, obviously because we can, it’s your inertia". About 99% of my banking is done on the internet and 100% is payments in, payments out — simple. It’s all being done with equipment that was depreciated to zero decades ago...
