The Northern Cape towns of Andriesvale and Upington are not too geographically far-flung from Johannesburg — by SA standards. The two dorpies are a nine-hour drive from Johannesburg. But compared to the high-rise hustle, bustle and jostle of Johannesburg, their expansive, red sand-duned landscapes are a visual and aural galaxy away.From 2012 to 2015, three filmmakers who take doses of Jozi’s fast pace intravenously invested themselves almost out of pocket to make a film based in the somnolent towns of Upington and Andriesvale.
