It’s been one of the Cape’s wine estates since 1682 and, in addition to producing some of the country’s top wines, the Steenberg estate now boasts a five-star hotel and spa, top-notch dining at Catharina’s Restaurant or Bistro Sixteen82, and even an 18-hole golf course in Constantia. But it’s not just visitors to the Western Cape or residents of the province who get to enjoy the hospitality of this famous vineyard. The annual Steenberg Garden Party in Gauteng is one of the province’s summer highlights. This year, the elegant affair takes place at Beechwood Gardens in Sandton. Guests can wander the landscaped gardens, taste their favourite Steenberg wines and tuck into culinary delights, all against the backdrop of laid-back music.
