In the past week, I flew to Joburg with a plan to road-trip a car back to Cape Town. That didn’t work out so well and the drive got cancelled, leaving me with a rare delight: a wide-open diary for a day and a half in my old stamping ground before a flight home. Perhaps assisted by the generally good stuff that was released on Sens around the same time, I left with a more bullish feeling on South Africa than I’ve had in a long time.
