Any economist worth their salt has a favourite chart. The economics gurus who have delved into the phenomena behind some deceptively simple line appreciate just how much it means.
For some macroeconomists, the line depicting household savings over time is that beloved image. It certainly struck a chord with the Centre for African Management & Markets (CAMM) team when we spotted it as the opening graph in the latest AgriTrends report from Absa. We’ve all used this figure in various ways, usually applying the mathematics conjured by our teammate Adrian Saville years ago. ..
