Comedian Tumi Morake is embarking on her first official SA tour, with shows that will take in a number of the country’s smaller towns. Tumi or Not Tumi deals with everything from schizophrenia to motherhood and has a PG rating of 16. In 2016, Morake became the first woman to be crowned Comic of the Year. She was also the first woman to host Comedy Central Presents on African soil. Morake received rave reviews for her first one-woman show, staged at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013. Tumi or Not Tumi begins its run at the Emnotweni Casino in Nelspruit on February 25 and will take in a number of towns, including Newcastle, Secunda and Caledon, until May.
