Ben Sipho Ngubane is consistent: He has always displayed very poor judgment. A poor judge of politics: his stomach seems to be doing the judging for him on this score. He chooses his friends very badly. His choice of employers is even worse. The Eskom independent nonexecutive chairman is generally a poor judge of character. Ngubane is in perfect company with such people as Jacob Zuma, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, Brian Molefe and Mangosuthu Buthelezi. He still won’t answer any questions about his relationship with the Gupta family. And he is anything but independent. He doesn’t let principles stand in the way of wealth and glory.Since he joined active politics in the 1970s, nearly all his actions suggest a man who is always on the lookout for easy opportunities for personal enrichment.
