Tidal wave of debt, audit concerns and legal battles dog Choppies, but optimistic CEO says it’s plain sailing

When Choppies opened in Zambia in 2015, the local auditor told CEO Ramachandran (Ram) Ottapathu that if the firm made money in the country, “I will quit my job”.
“Fortunately for him,” says Ottapathu, “we switched auditors. Otherwise, I would have told him to stop practising.” ..
