Markets trading ahead of the JSE on Tuesday morning were generally green, boosted by a rebound in commodity prices. Standard Bank’s copper price tracking exchange-traded note fell 1.8% to R10.92 on Monday. Metals were enjoying a rally on Tuesday morning, led by zinc whose three month delivery contract prices rose 2.3% on the London Metals Exchange. Anglo American and its subsidiaries Anglo American Platinum and Kumba Iron Ore are scheduled to release their September quarter production reports on Tuesday. Statistics SA is scheduled to publish its financial statistics of higher education institutions for 2015 at 1pm. Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 index was up 0.75% and the Topix index 0.65%, boosted by the initial public offering of former state-owned Kyushu Railway whose share gained as much as 20% on is first trading day.
