The police say the arrest of former president of the University of the Witwatersrand’s student representative council Mcebo Dlamini is linked to on-going investigations.“The South African Police Service (SAPS) can confirm that a 32-year-old male was arrested at a residence on the Wits University campus at about 01:00 this morning.“The arrest was effected as part of on-going investigations into recent violence‚ criminality and acts of intimidation. Investigations continue‚” spokesperson Brigadier Sally de Beer said in a statement.De Beer said the police do not reveal the identities of arrested persons until their first court appearance. On Sunday morning‚ however‚ Economic Freedom Fighters national chairperson Advocate Dali Mpofu‚ community newspaper Wits Vuvuzela and others confirmed on Twitter that the arrested man is Dlamini.
