The showdown will precede the general council meeting at which the new Springbok coach should be named THE South African Rugby Union’s (Saru’s) handling of Jurie Roux’s legal troubles at the beginning of the month could cause a stink at one of the governing body’s twin meetings on Friday.Business Day understands that the 14 union presidents that make up the general council, Saru’s biggest decision-making body, called tomorrow’s special general meeting to get answers, among other things, on how the Roux issue was "resolved".Roux, the Saru CEO, is embroiled in a legal battle with Stellenbosch University over allegations that he "manipulated" funds to aid the Maties rugby programme without the university’s knowledge when he was their rugby boss.
