President Jacob Zuma has appointed an eight-member ministerial team to address the Fees Must Fall crisis at South African tertiary institutions — but there is no one representing the Treasury.The student-led campaign for free education has been raging since September 19.Ahead of the medium-term budget policy statement on October 26, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan invited the public to make submissions to his ministry on how the government could afford to fund free tertiary education.The Presidency announced the task team on Tuesday. The team includes the ministers of police‚ state security‚ justice and correctional services‚ defence‚ home affairs and science and technology‚ who will assist the higher education and training minister.
