Tour operator AfricaStay and low-cost carrier Mango Airlines offer scheduled charter to increasingly popular destination after loss of 1time’s twice-weekly direct flights LOW-cost carrier Mango Airlines and South African tour operator AfricaStay have taken over the increasingly popular route to Zanzibar from former rival 1time.Mango spokesman Hein Kaiser said on Monday that Mango had operated several charters to the east African island in December "and will be doing more"."There has been a very positive response thus far," Mr Kaiser said.1time, which is in provisional liquidation, had operated two direct weekly flights to Zanzibar — which was previously the only direct flight to and from South Africa.Cobus Vermeulen, marketing and sales director of AfricaStay, said on Monday that AfricaStay had signed a contract with Mango to begin operating a scheduled charter to and from Zanzibar.Ticket prices would be between R5,000 and R7,000 after tax, although there would be "lots of specials"...
