Get in line, Theresa May — Brexit is far from the top of the EU’s agenda
Brussels — When UK Prime Minister Theresa May shows up to her first EU summit in Brussels on Thursday, she will have to take a number and get in line before addressing any national grievances. While Britain’s exit from the EU is the biggest issue in the UK right now, for the other 27 members of the bloc Brexit is just one of several existential threats lapping at their feet. From the fallout of rampant populism to a migration crisis that is fraying Europe’s social unity, leaders are keen to get on with finding solutions. "The next 12 months will be really crucial for the EU," said Manfred Weber, leader of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats in the European Parliament in an interview in Brussels.
