Several horses with the Sansui Summer Cup as their main objective will line up in Saturday’s R400,000 Victory Moon Stakes (grade2) at Turffontein. The 17-runner field includes the Cup favourite Liege as well as St Tropez who will have top jockey Anton Marcus in the saddle. Liege heads the Cup market at 13-2. Sean Tarry will be happy that Liege has drawn favourably in Saturday’s 1,800m event and last season’s Jubilee Handicap winner should go well in the hands of champion jockey, S’manga Khumalo. With 400m to run in last Saturday’s Charity Mile, nothing appeared to be going better than St Tropez. However, the Silvano gelding ran out of gas and finished six lengths behind the winner, New Predator. Provided this race has not come too soon, St Tropez has a chance of winning his first race in more than a year.
