We read about the pros and cons of Eskom cutting off electricity to defaulting municipalities. Perhaps it would be better for Eskom to simply treat defaulting municipalities the way most municipalities treat a defaulting customer. Eskom should simply inform defaulting municipalities that they will in future have to prepay for their electricity at the start of each month. That way, they could not run up any further debts.
