An English professor at the University of Victoria, Misao Dean, has targeted canoes. Canoes were used to colonise Canada and are thus symbols of colonisation, imperialism and marginalisation, she says. Moreover (the biggest sin of all) they are almost exclusively used by whites — unlike the host of other colonial derivatives, dare one say, that are too useful to be identified as such.
