Profile: Helen Zille is the former leader of the DA and the premier of the Western Cape. A former journalist for the Rand Daily Mail, she moved to politics late in her career, joining what was then the Democratic Party in 1994. Later she became an MP for the DA, then mayor of Cape Town before being elected as the party leader in 2007 and then premier in 2009. She has just over 1-million followers on Twitter.
