THE National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has managed to reduce its irregular expenditure to R265,000 for the 2015–16 financial year, from as much as R62m three years ago.The agency, which falls under the Presidency and is meant to create opportunities for the youth, has in the past been embroiled in controversy over irregular expenditure, not least after squandering millions of rand on a youth festival in 2010.
