Allister Coetzee on Monday named new faces such as Stormers flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis and Lions hooker Akker van der Merwe for a Springbok training camp next week. The coach recalled injured Boks such as Handré Pollard‚ Siya Kolisi‚ Frans Malherbe and Jaco Kriel while world sevens player of the year Seabelo Senatla is also included in the 41-man group. Players from the Sharks and Southern Kings‚ who are on Super Rugby tours‚ were not considered for the camp‚ which runs from March 5-7 in Johannesburg. It is the first of three preparation camps the Springboks will undertake as part of their plans before the start of the international season in June‚ when SA host France in a three-match series. Included are Ox Nche (prop‚ Cheetahs)‚ Joseph Dweba (hooker‚ Cheetahs)‚ Hanro Liebenberg (No 8‚ Bulls)‚ Warrick Gelant (fullback‚ Bulls) and Wilco Louw (prop‚ Stormers).
