PIONEER Foods appreciates many of the opinions put forward in the leader article (Sugar tax must be even-handed, July 12). It raised important points regarding the efficacy of the proposed sugar tax to tackle obesity and poor nutrition.However, we must draw attention to the inaccurate assertion that Liqui-Fruit is sweetened with fruit concentrate, as this is misleading. Liqui-Fruit is 100% fruit juice, and is not sweetened by fruit concentrate or any other additive.To ensure the availability of Liqui-Fruit throughout the year, juice from fruit is concentrated by heating it to remove water through evaporation.
