The SABC’s three remaining board members scored a victory of sorts on Thursday after Parliament agreed to their request that another committee, and not the portfolio committee on communications, be appointed to carry out the inquiry into their fitness to hold office. The inquiry was originally meant to be conducted by the portfolio committee on communications. The committee made it clear in October the board needed to be dissolved following the sudden resignation of two board members, Krish Naidoo and Vusi Mavuso. The two resigned in protest against the reappointment of former chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng as group executive of corporate affairs.
