Property developer Cosmas Cavaleros is showing signs of improvement after suffering a heart attack while fleeing gunmen on Sunday. Cavaleros crashed his car and had a heart attack while getting away from robbers in Pretoria. The Cavaleros Group said on Tuesday he was still in a critical condition in hospital, but stable and showing signs of improvement. The family said Cavaleros entered the underground parking area at Central Square Shopping Centre in Menlyn Maine at about midday on Sunday. Several gunmen approached him and in escaping he crashed his car and had a heart attack. Neil Gopal, CEO of the South African Property Owners Association, said he was "saddened by this senseless event and hopes that every effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrators". The Cavaleros Group is involved in major property developments, and its portfolio includes the Maslow and Hilton hotels.
