The Save SA campaign, spawned under ANC stalwart and AngloGold Ashanti chairman Sipho Pityana, is on Wednesday due to launch its declaration and call to action at a rally in Nelson Mandela Bay, in the Eastern Cape. This is the second phase of the campaign, after its people’s assembly against state capture held in Pretoria earlier this month. Save SA said the struggle to save SA has just started. "We believe the social mobilisation that accompanied the People’s Assembly Against State Capture in Pretoria helped push back corrupters in the state and showed the readiness of millions of people to stand up and defend state institutions. "However, in the short time since then, even more revelations have emerged of corruption and capture."
