KWAZULU-Natal premier Willies Mchunu is worried by the failure of two hung councils to swear in officials, saying the delay was hampering the provision of service delivery.Since August’s local government elections, Jozini and Nquthu municipalities have convened several council meetings which, due to political bickering, walk-outs by councillors and legal objections, failed to elect officials including the mayor, deputy mayor, speaker and chief whip.Speaking to the media during a provincial and local government lekgotla in Durban, Mchunu denied opposition claims that members of the provincial executive were involved in the disruptions of the municipal election processes in the two municipalities."The government has not failed and is not a culprit in Jozini and Nquthu.
