We have done Vespa’s car park riding thing before, but when BMW Motorrad SA invited us to learn to ride at its proper academy at the Zwartkops Raceway, we jumped at the chance.It was a clever plan by BMW. In 2017 the company will launch its G310R as part of a new range which features engines below 500cc for the first time in its history. It wants us to get out there and ride, although how many actually take to it remains to be seen.BMW has had the most success in the adventure bike segment with its GS, accounting for a full 75% of its sales in SA, according to Alexander Baraka, GM of BMW Motorrad SA, but we were not about to be let loose on those.
