THE office of the chief procurement officer in the Treasury is evaluating the documents and responses provided by Eskom last week, on its coal contracts with Gupta-linked Tegeta Exploration and Resources, in preparation for a final report on the matter.Eskom finally provided the documents last week after a tit-for-tat exchange in the media with Chief Procurement Officer Kenneth Brown, over their late delivery.The documents included the schedule of prepayments made to Tegeta, said the office’s chief director for governance, monitoring and compliance, Solly Tshitangano, ahead of a briefing to Parliament’s public accounts committee.READ THIS: Tegeta deals clean, says EskomQuestions were raised over the prepayments, namely whether they were an indication that Eskom had afforded Tegeta preferential treatment.But this allegation was firmly rejected by Eskom chief financial officer Anoj Singh last week.
