THE ANC on Tuesday denied reports that it had received R80m from the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa), and called for the prosecution of those who received the money.However, earlier in the day, Prasa chairperson Popo Molefe did not budge from the claim he made in his court affidavit last week that R80m from a Prasa contract may have wound up in the coffers of the ANC.Molefe told Parliament’s portfolio committee on transport that the agency, which runs Metrorail and Shosholoza Mail, would forge ahead with its ongoing investigations into malfeasance at the entity, regardless of the cost.A storm has been brewing between Prasa and Transport Minister Dipuo Peters, who last week publicly announced that current investigations at the agency would have to cease as they were too costly, given the R80m price tag.However, Molefe had promptly stated that a premature stop to any probe would be illegal as the minister had "no powers" to stop an investigations recommended by the public protecto...
