ESKOM has dismissed suggestions that it failed to comply with the law pertaining to its application for two site licences, for the installation of nuclear power plants at Thyspunt in the Eastern Cape and Duynesfontein in the Western Cape.The issue is a sensitive one as the utility will have to ensure that all the processes related to the proposed construction of a 9,600MW fleet of nuclear power plants are followed to the letter, to prevent adverse repercussions later on.
