New board at ACA
Advertising executive Boniswa Pezisa from Net#work BBDO has been elected new chair of the Association for Communication & Advertising (ACA). Gareth Leck (Joe Public), Thabang Skwambane (FCB) and Paul Middleton (Ebony & Ivory) join her on the board as vice-chairs. Pezisa says the new board’s primary role will be to “finesse and implement policies and decisions that will take the industry and the profession at large to the next level”. Among the new board’s biggest challenges will be overseeing new transformation targets and ensuring a united industry line on fees for pitches — an issue that has been brought to the fore after Telkom’s recent refusal to do so.
