AS another member of the Cabinet came out in support of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on Monday, the ANC in the North West called for an investigation into leaders and ministers "who are possibly working with the opposition" to attack President Jacob Zuma, to "weaken the ANC". The ANC’s divisions have exploded into the open since the National Prosecuting Authority issued summonses for Gordhan to appear in court on fraud charges, related to the early retirement of former South African Revenue Service (SARS) commissioner Ivan Pillay. The move precipitated an outpouring of support from party leaders and ministers, including Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.
