I’ve done my fair share, though we called it bobcatting at school when we put our 50cc motorbikes through their paces. The mark of a lad, back in the early 1980s, was to head to the back of Kariega (then Uitenhage), where there was a notoriously steep incline that would severely challenge a rider. ..
