Another SABC board member has resigned, leaving the board of the troubled broadcaster with just three members. The Presidency announced on Friday that President Jacob Zuma had received and accepted the resignation of Leah Thabisile Khumalo as a member and deputy chairperson of the SABC board, with immediate effect. "The president has thanked Ms Khumalo for her contribution during her tenure at the SABC and wished her well in all her future endeavours," the Presidency said in a statement. Parliament’s communications portfolio committee is preparing to hold an inquiry into the fitness to hold office of the remaining SABC board members. The committee hopes to conclude the inquiry before the end of November, when Parliament ends its business for the year. The crisis at the public broadcaster is largely about former chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
