As far back as the early 2000s, The Codfather, when it was still located on Rivonia Road, used to be one of my favourite haunts. Almost every month my wife and I would make a beeline for the restaurant, which arguably serves the best seafood in Johannesburg. The setting was great, the food even better.
But when it moved we lost contact. We later tracked it down to its new address at the Sandton Skye hotel, fearing its standards might have dropped — you know, hotel food...
