PASSING OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
It is with great sadness and regret that Fortress announces the passing of Tshiamo Daphne Matlapeng-Vilakazi
on 20 September 2020.
Tshiamo served as an independent non-executive director on the board of directors of the Company for nearly
five years, since her appointment in December 2015 following the merger of Fortress with Capital Property Fund
Limited. During that time Tshiamo acted as chairperson of both the Remuneration and the Social & Ethics
Committees, leading and overseeing our sustainability and transformation initiatives that have resulted in
Fortress regaining its BEE rating as level 5 contributor at the end of the June 2020 financial year.
The board of directors, executive management and all staff of Fortress extend our deepest sympathies to
Tshiamo's family, friends and colleagues.
