SA guns for honours in creative excellence in advertising
SA was ranked the 17th most-awarded country in the recent Gunn Report on creative excellence in advertising. The accolade speaks to the local industry’s competitiveness on the international stage
The Ogilvy & Mather group is the leading SA agency in the 2016 global Gunn Report, the respected global index of creative excellence in advertising. The smaller, Cape Town-based independent FoxP2 is in second place and Net#work BBDO rounds off the top three. BBDO has won more awards than any other advertising group in the world, followed by McCann and Leo Burnett, which both have a strong local presence. SA has also moved up one place in the "most awarded countries in the world" ranking table, from 18 in 2015 to 17 in 2016. A total of 13 agencies contributed points for this ranking. The rest of the SA list includes Y&R SA in fourth place, followed by Black River FC, DDB SA, FCB and TBWA Hunt Lascaris.
