Dwindling band of Zuma loyalists are doing all they can to head off a discussion on the president's future at the ANC national executive meeting
President Jacob Zuma’s supporters will try to quash attempts to discuss his fate at the meeting of the ANC’s national executive committee that starts tonight. Although those opposing his leadership have become more emboldened, given the scandals engulfing his presidency, his supporters have again regrouped to stop discussion of his removal from office. The latest round of conflict comes as an in-depth report written by eight highly respected academics and researchers has revealed the true extent of state capture under Zuma. Called 'How South Africa is Being Stolen', the report details Zuma's relationship with the Guptas and the systematic campaign to turn state enterprises into cash generators for private interests linked to Zuma.
